Creative Clinical Supervision
A reflective space for people who work with children.
Working with children can bring uncertainty, strong feelings and questions that are not easy to hold alone. Supervision offers protected time to pause, think and make sense of the work, with the child’s wellbeing and safe, ethical practice at the centre.
WHO IT IS FOR
Think together about the work
I currently offer individual and group supervision as a trainee Clinical Supervisor while completing my postgraduate supervisor training, which I expect to finish in early 2027. Supervision is for play therapists and other professionals who support children, including early years and school staff, teachers, speech and language therapists (SLTs), social workers and others. We can think about the therapeutic relationship, the child’s communication, safeguarding, boundaries, ethical questions, uncertainty and the emotional impact of the work.
Supervision is collaborative. I will bring curiosity and a willingness to think alongside you, rather than assume there is one right answer. The aim is to support your own reflective process, professional judgement and continuing development.
MY APPROACH
Warm, curious and creative
My approach to supervision is shaped by the same values I bring to child therapy: safety, respect, curiosity and attention to relationship. Depending on what is useful, reflection may include conversation, creative methods or other ways of looking at a question from a different angle.
Supervision can make room for both the practical and emotional parts of the work: what you are noticing, what feels unclear, what is helping, and what may need further attention or consultation.
SCOPE
Safe and accountable practice
Supervision can support reflection on safeguarding, professional boundaries, ethical responsibilities, record keeping and working with parents, carers or other professionals. It does not replace an organisation’s safeguarding procedures, line management responsibilities or urgent advice from the appropriate safeguarding lead or professional body.
PRACTICAL DETAILS
